Noise

We are in a quiet rural area over-looking a village. The church bells are quite noisy! They sound on the hour and there is bell ringing on a Sunday morning and Thursday evening. If the wind blows from the north (not prevailing) it is possible to hear traffic on the A38. This is more noticeable at night. We are surrounded by farms so farm machinery may be working at any time. Cockerels can be heard in the early morning and the sound of children playing in the neighbouring primary school during term time. The tents are situated approximately 100m apart. Guests are encouraged to use the whole glamping field and visitors to Slow Worm tent walk past the front of Glow Worm to get to the bottom of the field. There is a quiet after 10pm policy on site. Grass is mown in the glamping site when visitors or either out for the day or on change-over days.

Fires

There are log burners in both tents and fire guards are available. Both tents have firepits surrounded by a log seating area.

Security

The glamping field is enclosed by a hedgerow and there is a gate with a stile to the country road outside the site. The gate can be closed but not locked. The tents have a zip access to front and rear and cannot be locked. All but two windows in the safari tents are ‘fixed’ (two rear windows in Slow Worm tent open fully) i.e. They have a non-removable insect mesh layer and a roll up plastic layer when the weather is hotter. The safari tents are on raised platforms with a balustrade. There is a gate with a latch at the top of the stairs which enclosed the terrace area.

Bee Hives

We have local bee hives but none in the field which contain the Safari Tents.

Animals

We allow up to two dogs into the safari tents. They are not permitted on the bedding and furniture. We are not a farm but we currently have a few chickens and a couple of cats that may visit the glamping field. We have seen deer, foxes and badgers in the field.
